Listening to Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside feels like stumbling into the best thrift store in the world (or at least the best one in Portland). They pour out a wonderful mix of old and new from rockabilly to blues to just good old rock n’ roll. With a hint of Joplin warble and a bucketful of authentic passion Sallie Ford belts out songs about everything from the terrible state of commercial radio (i.e. the song in the video above) to the ups and downs of relationships to the death of her father to writing letters on a typewriter.
